Selling Oils in 1/3 oz Roll-on Bottles:

1/3 ounce roll-on bottles are probably the most popular and preferred bottles used in the fragrance oil business, because of the ease of use associated with rolling the fragrance directly onto the skin.  One ounce of body oil will fill three 1/3 ounce roll-on bottles.  We’ll calculate the profit you’ll make off 1 pound of body oil using 1/3 ounce roll-on bottles and selling them at $7 each.  Multiply 3 x 16 = 48 (bottles), 48 x $7 = $336, subtract what you paid for the pound of body oil, $336 – $27 = $309 profit minus the cost of your bottles.  If you sold three pounds of oil at the rates above, your profit would be $927 (not including the deduction of bottles). Not bad for a $81 investment, eh?

Selling Oils in 1oz Bottles:
If you sell one ounce of body oil for $15 just multiply 16 x $18 = $288 – $27 = $261 profit. If you sold three pounds of oil at the rates above, your profit would be $783.  Remember to factor in the cost of your bottles to get your net profit.

1lb of oil equals:
16-1oz bottles or 48-1/3oz bottles

8oz (1/2 lb) of oil equals:
8-1oz bottles or 24-1/3oz bottles

2oz of oil equals:
2-1oz bottles or 6-1/3oz bottles

1oz of oil equals:
1-1oz bottle or 3-1/3oz bottles
